PedalBXL Road Bike Tours: reviews from the riders

Benjamin – August, 2019
A fantastic experience featuring all the different types of terrain you can expect in a Belgian classics race. Karl has a unique knowledge of the best routes to take, which result in little traffic interruption or safety concerns. Karl and I chatted the whole way around he has great stories and knowledge of the pro peloton and cycling in general which I loved. The pace was spot on as the day progressed I got to experience all different types of pave (cobbles) going up and down hill with big gaps and small gaps all providing a different element to the day. The Ritchey bike was great very solid considering the pounding it gets on the pave yet lightweight enough to not feel like a steel bike. Karl was a perfect host and I could not recommend this tour enough. It was awesome.

This was an epic experience. By the time we were an hour in to the ride I felt like we had been biking together for years. Karl will let you push the ride as much as you want. But watch out…. he has some serious stamina. His stories about the classic races and TDF routes are great added bonus. Not to mention he is an all around good guy. If you are an avid cyclist do not miss out on this opportunity.

We took a tour from Brussels out to the Flemish Ardennes, riding the Muur de Gererdsbergen and the Bosberg. Karl-Heinz knows every little cow path and church path in the region, and took us on a tour we could have never done ourselves. We did flat cobbles, cobbled climbs, downhill cobbles, dirt (gravel) paths, and every windy backroad in the area. It was a blast! As a big plus the weather was perfect. Karl-Heinz knows the area intimately and is a super fun guy with good stories, an easy laugh, and set a perfect pace for us. We talked about racers new and old and based on what I knew he showed us some special places. Great host. Not sure how it could have been better. The bikes were set up impeccably, and were perfect for the terrain of this region. Super smooth, light, and absorbed the cobbles beautifully. If you are a cyclist with a passion for Flandrian racing, the spring classics, or just a rider who wants a great day out, you would be crazy not to do this tour! A simply great experience. Could not recommend it more.

What a great ride this morning. Karlel arrived with the bike set up perfectly on time and off we went. Through Brussels and then into the country side. The most amazing roads and cobble stones I could have asked for. Karel has a wealth of knowledge and was the most amazing ridding partner and guide. 106 km done with a great stop for something sweet. Thank you for an amazing day ride in Belgium, I will certainly be back for more.
